Web Design Service
Your website is often the first point of contact for your customers and hence is an extremely important advertising commodity. Indeed, it is available 24/7 and will give each customer their first impression of your business. This is why we need to develop your website together so you can provide information about your business and I can focus your content to the customer's needs.
Web Design Price
All my websites come with a 2 year .co.uk Domain registration, hosting & support for the first 12 months (future years from £70), at least 5 e-mail addresses and a website control panel so the quoted price is all you will pay for the first year. Need further explanation? Do not be afraid to ask, even if you think it is a silly question, there is no such thing!

Web Designer or Template?
It is possible these days to build your own website fairly simply using software or on-line services and these can produce pages that look fine in your browser. Looking fine is a major plus, however, your web designer should be able to add the following value:
- Build the website to your requirements rather than accepting a template layout/colour scheme.
- Ensure the web page files, including images etc, are as efficient as possible to speed up download times.
- Utilise Search Engine Optimisation techniques, adding keywords and phrases to help you be found and indexed correctly and to stand out.
- Ensure the code used is valid and accessible - you can check this yourself using the W3C validator. Accessibility ensures the web pages are suitable for all web users - eg screen readers for the blind can read text but can't 'read' a photo hence alt text is required.
- Test your website on a variety of browsers to ensure it is rendered correctly on different versions. Unfortunately not all browsers display web pages the same and looking okay in Internet Explorer does not mean it will look okay in Mozilla Firefox.
Your website will be individually created - I do not use templates nor the same colour schemes; if you are interested, I can show you 6 now 7 different websites for accommodation providers in Skye and Lochalsh that are remarkably similar so you can see what I mean. As the website owner you may not be too bothered that your website looks identical to someone else's, to your customer however, they may think that you are part of a chain or have copied each other's websites. Moreover, you pay me to design your website, not add your details to someone else's template!
